I love the charcoal the best.I like the trim white also and maybe paint the front door black with a really bright summery wreath. You have a beautiful home:)
ReplyDeleteYour house is AMAZING! I love the charcoal the best too with the black door. First thing I thought...THAT'S IT! But since it is your house...you can have that aha moment for yourself. :)As for white trim...I am always a fan of going light. My house is painted with a darker trim with a lighter color on the house and it seems dreary to me. But I live in FL too. And your house is brick. I think I am getting stressed on your behalf!!! Regardless...you certainly have a beautiful dream house!
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of the charcoal! I love the color navy with brick...it's different...as far as the garage and front door go anyways (not that you asked for another color suggestion;)). Your house is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI have charcoal on my small ranch and I to this day I still LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteTough choice! I hate to throw a kink in things since most people are going with charcoal, but I like Barkwood and Mission Brown.
ReplyDeleteCharcoal, definitely charcoal.
ReplyDeleteIf I were you (which I'm not obviously, but here goes anyway) I would pick one of the browns - Weathered wood, Mission brown or Barkwood. Because they're the most neutral looking with the red brick.
ReplyDeleteMy personal favorite is the weathered wood.
I'm all for colors but if you need to live with it for 30 years I say go as neutral as possible.
I wouldn't pick slate or charcoal because they make more of a statement and you've kind of locked yourself into a color scheme for the rest of the house. Yes a black door would look gorgeous with gray/black roof but then you'd have to add in more of those colors elsewhere to give the house some cohesion.
The white trim is nice and crisp and I like the contrast with the reds and browns. A red door could still work with red and brown, a fall color scheme.
With the brown roof you can add more color to the door, a bright blue or a greenish turquoise would look great with the reds and browns.
Unless you want the garage door to be a focal point I would paint it something less crisp than white (beige or tan in a carriage door style?)
I think white or cream would look good on the siding as well.
This is just my opinion and I'm not an expert so take it or leave it :) Love the house!
The poll didn't seem to be working for me so I'll just tell you what I think here.
ReplyDeleteI love the Charcoal roof. I think it looks awesome and is the best contrast to really make the house look fantastic.
I do think the red door is great, but if you wanted more contrast and crispness, black would be even better. I actually like the white trim/siding. Good luck deciding!
I like the slate or weathered wood, either wood be good with a black or red door. Good Luck!
ReplyDeletei think i like the charcoal roof the best!
ReplyDeleteBarkwood or Hickory roof! Oh no, please don't paint the door black. Maybe another color besides red, but I like something in the red family. I prefer brick over siding, so I'm gonna say no to the siding as garage door trim. I don't really know about trim and garage door colors though. I can't think of anything except maybe if you do go w/ the brown family roofing, a tan family trim color. This was fun!
ReplyDeletei like charcoal too, but make sure the colours you want are available in the style you want before you start getting too committed -- mom wanted red shingles on her cottage & was sooo determined to get that colour that she ended up having to buy more expensive shingles because they were the only ones who made the colour she had firmly embedded in her mind.
ReplyDeleteLove the charcoal!

weathered wood!
ReplyDeleteThis is really a great post i like charcoal too.
ReplyDeletegarage doors
I like the charcoal!!! I'm not sure what I'd do about the trim or door though.
ReplyDeleteI am undecided between slate and barkwood but probably leaning towards slate. Maybe that is because we have lots of red brick with a slate roof where I live but it looks good.
ReplyDeleteBarkwood or Hickory ............OK I have spent waaaaaaay to much time going back and fourth!!! ha
ReplyDeleteCharcoal! :) and I would paint the door a charcoal color and leave the trim white. Besides the fact that I think it looks good, aluminum siding and trim are very low maintenance. Why would you paint that and then have to repaint every few years? Just a thought!
ReplyDeleteThe darker the color the shorter the life span and the more heat transfer. My pick is weathered wood.
ReplyDeleteI like the Barkwood and Charcoal
ReplyDeleteI like Barkwood and Charcoal.
ReplyDeleteCharcoal!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Charcoal! :)
ReplyDeletemy vote is for the charcoal. it gives the house an update and a bit more of a timeless feel and it also make it look fresher, and newer which is also always great for resale.
ReplyDeletei like the barkwood...
ReplyDeleteI would choose Charcoal...Looks so crisp & clean... BUT I remember picking out roof colors.. it was maddening... : )
ReplyDeleteI liked charcoal best (goes best with the color of your brick) & then checked the poll & looks like that's the leading color too. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCOuld you let me know the program which you used to put in your own house. I have been searching for sometime. THanks.
ReplyDeleteThe Charcoal really looks awesome

ReplyDeleteYou also need to clean all the debris from your roof at least twice a year. Dirt, leaves, pine needles and other debris can overtime cause mold and mildew to grow on your roof and cause other damage as well. Local roofers
