Before with the shake roof.
After with the charcoal architectural shingles. We also painted the front door navy blue.
The insurance company was right about needing a new roof. Every day I would pick up fallen shingles from the flower beds.
When the roofers removed these shakes we found hundreds of wasp nests.
To save money we did all the clean-up and ended up filling 3 dumpsters.
The house was too big of a project for us to do, but my husband was able to do the shed himself and save a little money there.
Now that the roof is finished, I'm excited to work on more fun projects like creating a smart home!
Your house is so charming...love the navy door. Great choice on the roof color, I have a weakness for old brick houses.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting every week!
Looks very nice. We just had our done as well and it's amazing how often I look at other roofs now.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice on the roof. Looks fantastic with the brick!
ReplyDeleteThe roof looks great! I keep hoping for a hail storm to get rid of our "old lady pink" roof....very jealous of yours!
ReplyDeleteI added my tutorial on Canning Jalapeno Pepper Jelly. I thought this might be a great Christmas gift for people who have everything! Or just love food….Hope you enjoy-and thanks again!
Hi Jen, thank you for hosting this party! Your new roof looks great! I'm amazed that the rest of the house looks so updated - I guess the previous owners updated the house (brick looks nice) but not the roof? We moved into ours last year and it's a l-o-n-g work in progress, I say we'll be done in 20yrs! Have a nice week!
