Framed Plastic Canvas Earring Holder

I searched the stores and online for a good earring holder for about year and was never satisfied with what was available and decided to make my own. After googling how to make an earring holder I found many different versions of framed plastic canvas earring holders and made mine for only 59 cents!

I already had a frame with a broken glass, so all I had to buy was the plastic canvas. The canvas I bought was the exact same size as the opening in my frame and wouldn't stay in, so I had to glue the edges to an old mat I had.
Then I cut it to fit in my frame and glued some ribbon I already had around the edge to hide the glue.
The last step was to glue it into the frame.
If your canvas fits into your frame without falling out, then all you have to do is glue the canvas to the back of the frame. I actually ended up really liking the look of the ribbon frame within the frame.

  2. Hi Jen! I absolutely love this idea for an earring holder - I tried making one out of a cheese grater which came out great but I need more room. Quick question - where did you buy the plastic canvas? Thanks!!!

  3. Needing more room ? I made one w a bulliten board and hung a mesh piece of cloth over it. Then on the bottom I attached a tie rack to hang necklaces from . Hope that idea helps to give you more room!
