242nd Penny Pinching Party and my Pixie!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful Summer.

I think Summer is the perfect time to do one or two things from my bucket list. Pinterest is my bucket list full of projects, places to travel, and things to do and one of my Pinterest boards is full of pixie haircuts. Yep, getting a pixie was on my bucket list and probably one of the bravest things a woman can do.

I finally just did it and I am glad I did. This is the first time I have ever had wash and go hair and it is amazing! I am so excited to go camping this Summer! It is going to be so much easier to take my kids to the pool and go Swimming. I know a lot of people prefer long hair on a woman, but it is very liberating to chop it all off. Most of the time I wore a pony tail anyway.

I had a few health issues to overcome before being brave enough to go pixie and have my face exposed to the world. Over the last couple of years I gained some weight and my face, hands and feet had become puffy and swollen. I also developed hormonal acne that was really embarrassing and hard to hide. In February I went on a candida diet and took prescription Diflucan. I lost 25 lbs in three weeks and another 5 during the second month. All of the swelling left my face and I was me again! I also figured out my hormonal acne and no longer needed my hair to hide behind.

The picture on the left was taken July 2013 when I was at my puffiest. The picture on the right was taken right after my pixie cut in June 2014. What a difference! My neck even got smaller! It only took a couple of months for the transformation and I feel so much better. I still have sinus problems which I hope to figure out someday, so I will keep reading and studying and figuring life out. It is a process and this year I have made a lot of progress. Hooray for bucket lists!
